Affordable SEO with Longtail Keywords

ShareIf you are starting an online business then you’ll soon realize the important of search engine optimization for your website. If you are willing to try your hand at ranking your own website then affordable SEO is not out of the question. To make search engine optimization less expensive for you, there are certain things you will have to focus on when you are building your website and creating your online presence. One of the main aspects includes what types of keywords you are trying to rank your website for.
To get your sites to rank in the search engines quicker however you must focus on long tail keywords as they will be easier to rank for. Long tail keywords offer many benefits over trying to rank your website for the short tail. A long tail is a keyword phrase that is at least three or more words. Ranking your website for the long tail will be a shorter process and also lead to you getting more targeted traffic to your website.
To put it into perspective short tail keywords may be
- lose weight
- weight loss
- lose fat
Now the long tail variety of those keywords would be
- lose weight fast with acai berries
- quick weight loss tricks for brides-to-be
- lose fat on your arms in 3 days
It is much easier to rank your website for the longer tail keywords as they will have less competition in the search engines. Also look at the keyword phrases; someone who is focused on losing fat on their arms in particular will be much more likely to visit your website over someone else’s site that is just focused on fat loss in general. The more specific the keyword phrase you are trying to rank for, the more targeted your visitor will be which in turn will help with your website conversions.
Now that you know what keywords you should be concentrating on, you need to focus on other aspects of search engine optimization. Other affordable seo steps you can take on your own include adding the keyword you are trying to rank for to your page title. In the eyes of the search engines your page title tells them exactly what your webpage is about. Therefore having the exact term you are trying to rank for in your page title will benefit your website tremendously.
Another thing you can do is buy a domain name that contains your keyword phrase, and buying a dot com, dot net, or dot org domain. It’s been said that the search engines favors domains that contain the exact key phrases so when possible buy domain names with the phrases included in them.
Now that you have a head start on affordable SEO, you can hire someone to take care of other aspects of off page optimization. This will mainly consists of distributing articles to different authority websites to get links back to your websites as well as other linking strategies; creating a social media campaign, developing a pr strategy, implementing a link building campaign, etc. With your website having a strong foundation however you will be well on your way to ranking your websites high in the search engines.

Great post! Converting long tail keywords is to make sure that every page of your site properly explains who you are, what you offer, and a direct call to action. This is easier done for some sites than others, but the pay offs are significant.
Including the keyword you want to rank is a great suggestion, Karen! Thanks a lot!
