WOW! What a Display…

I LOVE to decorate for the holidays – I think it’s fun and festive. And by “the holidays” I mean ALL holidays. I have salt and pepper shakers shaped like turkeys for Thanksgiving; I hang hearts in the window in February; I even have a light-up Uncle Sam that I put on the porch in July.

A few years ago when we rescued a special needs kitty (and, yes, I do mean special needs!) I was devastated to discover that we could no longer put up a Christmas tree. Because of our kitty’s limited mental capacity, he behaves as if he’s only a few months old. Which means he chews on everything. Pens left on the desk… magazines on the coffee table… the earphones for my mp3 player… even scary things like electric cords. So a brightly colored, well-lit, shiny tree would be much too dangerous a  temptation for him.

So when I heard about this home just an hour or so north of me, I’ll admit I was awe-struck. No matter what your views of Christmas or commercialization of the holidays, you’ve got to admire the amazing time and effort that went into designing these displays.

I’m going to take a drive up there in a few days so I can see this live and in person. In the meantime, I’ll just keep watching the videos!

Enjoy!
